Disney Packing Guide And Tips

Whether you are heading to Disney World or Disneyland, having the right items packed in your bag can make a big difference. This guide and these tips will ensure you have a hassle and stress-free trip you can enjoy.

Here are some key travel packing tips for your Disney vacation:

  • Ensure you have the best luggage that is durable and fits all the essentials. The Long Vacation Hard Luggage Set is the best one. This set comes with 4 pieces, a lock that is TSA-approved, 360-degree wheels, and very lightweight making this set a must-have for travel. This is great to use for your check bag and your carry-on bag.
  • Use a backpack for a personal item. It is easier to carry than a purse and usually fits more. This backpack I use is great. It has a separate laptop zipper compartment, a separate compartment for your phone and smaller items, and a larger open pocket. It also has a USB charging port you can access from the outside, padded shoulder straps, and a strap in the back to put on your luggage without it falling off. This bag can also come in handy for the bag you bring to the park if you want a backpack.
  • To make packing easier always organize all your items in packing cubes. They are a total game changer.
  • Be sure to check the weather before leaving home so you know what you are in for and so you know how to pack accordingly.
  • Also, have your Disney Magicbands ordered and or set up before you leave so you are ready to enjoy the parks.

Disney Packing Checklist – Clothing Essentials

When heading to Disney you want to make sure you pack everything you will need to be as fashionable and reasonable as possible. You may also want to include Disney-themed clothing if you have any. These are some essential clothing items you need to bring when heading on a Disney vacation:

  • shirts (tanks, short sleeves)
  • Long Pants (nighttime, travel days)
  • Shorts/ Skirts/ Skorts (great to wear over a swimsuit, pair with a tank for daytime)
  • Dresses/ Rompers (for nighttime dinners or Disney waterparks coverup)
  • Sweater (nighttime, good to have for travel days)
  • Swimwear (at least 2 pairs that way you have time to let them dry between days)
  • Swimwear Coverups (great to have for a beach day or Disney waterparks)
  • Underwear/ Bras (at least a new pair of underwear for each day/ at least 2 bras for a week-long trip)
  • Pajamas (cute shorts and tank for warm weather)
  • Socks (one pair for each day) (can be stored inside shoes to save space)
  • Sandals (basic sandals or flip-flops for waterpark days or by the pool)
  • Shoes (running shoes for Disney park days or travel days)
  • Workout Clothes (comfortable for Disney parks and or travel days)

Whenever packing for and vacation including a Disney vacation the key is to pack versatile capsule pieces that can be mixed and matched to create different outfits. Colors to mainly stick with include neutral colors like whites, beige colors, light coral colors, greys, and blacks. These neutral-tone colors can easily be mixed and matched with any outfit. It’s ok to also pack vibrant clothing, but the majority should be neutrals. Vacation wardrobe staples for warmer destinations like Florida or California where the main Disney parks are, you need to include clothing items that are lightweight with breathable fabric. Also, a great idea would be to pack 2 outfits for each day since you be very hot and sweaty. For kids definitely pack 2 outfits, they will most likely spill something on themselves or find a way to get them dirty.
