Seychelles is the smallest country in Africa and is an archipelago made of 115 little islands in the Indian Ocean. This tropical paradise consists of stunning beaches, clear blue water, lush landscapes, and divine resort towns. This country has something for everyone, whether you’re looking for relaxation, adventure, or culture.

This 7-day Seychelles itinerary post is packed with amazing experiences everyone will enjoy. Check out the best places to sunbathe, snorkel to see the coral reefs, swim in the most amazing water, the best places to see amazing wildlife, where to stay in Seychelles, how to get around Seychelles, and more.

This Seychelles itinerary takes you through the three main islands in 7 days. Explore Mahe and see Victoria and some amazing hiking trails. Discover Praslin, visit the famous Anse Lazio, and see giant turtles. Experience the beauty of La Digue while snorkeling in the clear turquoise waters.

This post is all about the Ultimate Seychelles itinerary.

Days 1-2: Explore Mahe – Seychelles’s Largest Island

To begin your Seychelles itinerary, fly into the largest island, Mahe. Mahe is home to 90% of Seychelles‘ population and is filled with beautiful mountains and stunning beaches. First, explore the capital, Victoria. Victoria has a very diverse culture and amazing historical landmarks to explore. Explore the Sir Selwyn Clarke Market, which is filled with fresh seafood, different spices, and crafts from local artists. Visit the historical landmark, the Victoria Clock Tower. Discover the Hindu Temple Arul Mihu Navasakthi Vinayagar to see Seychelles’s cultural diversity.

Next, make your way to Beau Vallon Beach. This is Seychelles‘ most famous beach and is located in a bay, making it a great spot to do some swimming and enjoy the water as it is calmer. This is also a great spot for snorkeling because it has clear water and beautiful, colorful coral reefs. Enjoy the many beachfront bars and restaurants along the beachfront.

There is a trail called Morne Blanc, and it is the best spot for a hike. The hike is very scenic and has stunning views of Mahe. Also, check out Anse Intendance, which is a great hidden gem beach that has soft sand and beautiful wavy water.

Days 3-4: Discover Praslin – Famous For Some Of The Best Beaches In The World

After exploring the beautiful island of Mahe, take a ferry to Praslin. The ferry ride is approximately an hour long, and this is a great time to relax and take in the luscious views of the Indian Ocean. Once you’ve arrived at Praslin, visit Anse Lazio, known as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. It has powdery white sand and perfect turquoise water. Definitely enjoy the beach here and cool off in the water.

Explore the Vallee de Mai Reserve, a famous rainforest that is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This specific spot is known for its unique, rare black parrots and the Coco de Mer palm, which is a sea coconut or a double coconut. The Coco de Mer palm is a biological phenomenon and is only found in the smaller parts of Seychelles. You can see many of these by walking through the trails of this jungle.

Next, you have to visit Curieuse Island by boat. Curieuse Island is famous for its giant Aldabra tortoises. This is a great spot to snorkel in the clear blue waters. Also a great spot for enjoying some beachside BBQ and walking along the beaches.

Enjoy a beautiful sunset at Cote d’Or Beach and relax along the beach for the evening. Be sure to enjoy some delicious Creole cuisine.

Days 5-6: Experience La Digue – A Biker’s Paradise

Continue your Seychelles itinerary by taking a ferry to La Digue Island. The ferry is a quick 15-minute ride from Praslin. Once you get on the island, rent a bike to explore. There are no cars on this island, so this is the most popular way for locals and tourists to get around and also the best way to see the beautiful island.

An absolute must-see beach is Anse Source d’Argent, this is one of the most photographed beaches in the world. Anse Source d’Argent is unique because it consists of giant smooth granite boulders, shallow lagoons, golden sunsets, and soft white sand. This beach is a true beauty and is a great spot for snorkeling and taking some stunning photos.

Next, explore some hidden gems on La Digue Island. First, head to Grand Anse, which is a breathtaking wild beach. This beach is stunning to look at and walk along the water, but it may be dangerous for swimming due to its strong currents. It is ideal for more advanced surfers for this reason. Also, check out Petite Anse, which is also a great quiet spot and is known for its stunning scenery. Both of these beaches have fewer tourists than the more popular beaches.

If you are looking to snorkel, then this is the place to do so. There is a guided snorkeling excursion that goes to Coco Island, which is famous for its diverse marine life and is truly an incredible experience. Another cool and unique experience would be to rent a transparent kayak in La Digue to see the amazing marine life in the clear waters.

Day 7: Return to Mahe and Relax

On your last day of this Seychelles itinerary, make your way back to Mahe Island. Take a ferry and enjoy the views of the ocean one last time on this vacation. Once you arrive in Mahe, spend the last day just relaxing in paradise at Anse Royale.

Where To Stay In Seychelles

Best Places To Stay In Mahe

Some great budget-friendly places to stay in Mahe are Hilltop Boutique Hotel and Sun Properties and Resort Hotel. Great mid-range accommodations in Mahe are the Hilton Seychelles Northolme Resort & Spa and the DoubleTree by Hilton Seychelles Allamanda Resort & Spa. An amazing luxury accommodation to stay at in Mahe is the Four Seasons Hotel.

Best Accommodations In Praslin

Budget-friendly places to stay in Praslin are Castello Beach Hotel and Residence Praslinoise. Some mid-range places to stay in Praslin include the Bliss Hotel Praslin and the Islander Hotel. Luxury accommodations in Praslin include Hotel Le Duc de Praslin and Dhevatara Beach Hotel.

Best Hotels In La Digue

The best budget-friendly hotels in La Digue are Mountain View Hotel and Hotel Chateau St Cloud. Great mid-range hotels in La Digue include Le Nautique Waterfront Hotel La Digue and La Digue Luxury Beach & Spa. An amazing luxury accommodation in La Digue is Le Domaine de L’Orangeraie Resort and Spa.

Best Time To Visit Seychelles

Seychelles is a tropical paradise and has warm temperatures year-round. The most popular time to visit Seycehlles for weather and activities is from April to May and October to November. This time is the ideal weather and calm waters, which is great for swimming at the beach and for snorkeling.

December to March is the hottest and most humid time of year in Seychelles, this is the time when there is the most rainfall as well. June to September has fairly warmer weather as well; it does get windy, which is great for surfers, but the wind may be a little harsh for snorkeling.

How To Get Around Seychelles

Seychelles is made of islands, some bigger, and some smaller. And some islands may have different means of transportation than others. For Mahe and Praslin, it is easiest to rent a car or use local transportation for getting around. For La Digue, the best way to get around and explore is by renting a bike. There are no cars in La Digue, so renting a bike is ideal. To get from island to island, use a ferry boat; this way, you get to explore the ocean as well and get to see some amazing views of Seychelles.

Packing Tips For Seychelles

When heading to Seychelles, be sure to pack clothing for warm weather. I would also recommend a light rain jacket for spurts of rain. Bring comfortable walking shoes for exploring and comfortable, waterproof flip-flops for the beach. Also, bring a bathing suit as there are lots of water activities to enjoy in Seychelles. A great idea would be to bring snorkel gear if you plan on snorkeling here. Also, sunscreen and a hat are a great idea as well.

Be sure to have a valid passport with at least 6 months left before expiration. Bring some cash with you. Seychelles’s currency is the Seychellois Rupee, which is great for smaller islands or small purchases. Bring a credit card for most other purchases like car rentals, flights, accommodations, meals, etc. Have all insurance with you. Also, a good idea is to bring a physical or digital copy of your flight details and accommodation confirmations. Be sure to check if you need a Visa to enter depending on where you are coming from and what passport you are traveling with.
