Orlando is located in central Florida and is best known for the Disney World theme parks and Universal Orlando attractions. With nice weather year-round and famous theme parks, Orlando is one of the top travel destinations in the world for kids and adults.
This fantastic 14-day Orlando itinerary will go over the Disney World parks including Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, the best waterparks, and more. Also included is Universal Orlando with Universal Studios Orlando and Islands of Adventure park.

On day 1 after you arrive in Orlando, check into your accommodation, unpack, and get ready for the journey that awaits on this 14-day Orlando itinerary. Make your way to Disney Springs which is an entertainment complex that is located at the Walt Disney World Resort and has something for everyone including, shopping, dining, walking around, and more. You can shop at popular stores like Sephora or Coach or do some Disney shopping at the largest Disney store in the world to grab some souvenirs or outfits and accessories for your trip. There are also cool stores to check out like the Coca-Cola Store and the Lego Store as well. Grab some dinner while here as well. There are many options for everyone to enjoy. You could also go see and movie if you have time as well.
For the next day of your 14-day Orlando itinerary, you need to head to Magic Kingdom which is the most iconic park at Disney World. It has world-famous attractions like the Cinderella Castle with its stunning fairytale charm. The gates to the park normally open about an hour before the park opens so this is a great time to explore Main Street without the busy crowds. Once the park opens do the busiest attractions first which would be Adventureland and Frontierland to dol attractions like the Jungle Cruise, the Pirates of the Caribbean Cruise, and the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Doing these early on is best because there are shorter wait times and fewer crowds.
Next, make your way to Fantasyland to check out It’s a Small World, Peter Pan’s Flight, and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Also, visit Tomorrowland to explore Space Mountain and Buzz Lightyear’s Spin. Some of these rides have “Genie+” to skip the line which is super convenient. Also, download the “My Disney Experience App” to see wait times for attractions, manage the Genie+, and more.
For the evening grab some dinner at the many restaurants around and be sure to stay and see the fireworks display at Cinderella’s Castle. Arrive early to get a good spot.
Next, you need to visit EPCOT. EPCOT is a different Disney Park which is full of futuristic reality and cultural experiences. First visit EPCOT’s Future World and see top attractions like the Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind roller coaster, Spaceship Earth journey, Soarin’ Around the World flight simulator, or global landmarks.
Once you’ve explored Future World head to the World Showcase which has 11 pavilions that have unique cultural experiences. Enjoy lunch at any of these worlds for a cultural delicacy. The absolute must-visit pavilions include Mexico, France, Japan, and Norway. Spend the day exploring the rest of EPCOT.
EPCOT is known for having amazing dining options so grab some dinner at San Angel Inn Restaurante at the Mexico pavilion or Regal Eagle Steakhouse at the USA pavilion or whatever you choose before watching the fireworks show over the World Showcase Lagoon at the end of the night.
On day 4 head to another world-famous park, Universal Studios Orlando Resort. Universal Studios Orlando is where movies and shows come to life. Again do the most popular attractions early in the day to avoid long wait times. The most popular rides and attractions include Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley, Despicable Me Minyon Mayhem, Transformers The 3D Ride, and more.
The main highlight of Universal Studios Orlando is Diagon Alley from Harry Potter. Check out the fire-breathing dragon at Gringotts Bank, ride the Hogwarts Express (which also connects to Islands of Adventure), try the famous Butterbeer, do some shopping at Ollivandera Wand Shops, and so much more.
For the afternoon grab some lunch at Fast Food Boulevard which is a Simpsons-themed food court with items like the Krusty Burger, etc. Then enjoy the Simpsons ride, Revenge of the Mummy, and Hollywood Rip Ride Rocket for some exciting adventures.
To end the day check out some shows like The Bourne Stuntacular or Animal Actors on Location before going for dinner and heading back to your room.
On day 5 of this ultimate 14-day Orlando itinerary, you need to check out Universal’s Islands of Adventure. This park is filled with amazing rides, unique lands, and ultimate adventure. Start the morning by exploring The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Hogsmeade. Some must-do attractions here include Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure rollercoaster. Also, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey is a ride that takes you inside Hogwarts Castle and goes through iconic Harry Potter Scenes.
Next, make your way to the land of Jurassic Park. Jurassic Park’s top attractions include Jurassic World VelociCoaster which is a super high-speed roller coaster. Jurassic Park River Adventure is a water ride that ends with an exhilarating drop. Also, check out the Raptor Encounter to get some cool photos.
Grab some lunch and continue onto Marvel Superhero Island and Toon Land. Check out the Incredible Hulk Coaster, Doctor Doom’s Fearfall, The Amazing Adventure of Spider-Man 3D Ride, Dudley Do Right’s Ripsaw Falls, Popeye and Bluto’s Bilge-Ra Barges, and more. For the evening explore the Lost Continent and Seuss Landing.
For a unique adventure, you need to visit Seaworld Orlando. Seaworld is full of water adventures, cool marine animal encounters, fun shows, and more. Start your day off with Seaworld’s best roller coasters including the Mako, the Manta, and the Ice Breaker.
Afterward, you need to check out some must-see animal exhibits. First, brave the walk through an underwater shark tunnel that is surrounded by many sharks. Visit Antarctica the Empire of the Penguin to see beautiful penguins. Explore the dolphin nursery to see adorable baby dolphins in their environment. Check out the Manatee Rehab Area to learn about the search and rescue efforts of manatees.
While here be sure to watch some amazing shows including Orca Encounter, Dolphin Adventures, and Sea Lion Otter Spotlight. There are also water rides to enjoy including Infinity Falls and Journey to Atlantis.
Take day 7 off from your Disney adventures and relax and recharge. If your accommodation has a pool spend the morning and afternoon recharging for the next portion of your trip. Or you can even enjoy a few hours in the spa.
For the afternoon and evening head to ICON Park in Orlando. ICON Park is a lively open-air entertainment complex that has cool attractions and many amazing dining options. Start off by taking a ride on the ICON Wheel which is an iconic landmark in Orlando. This ride lasts about 20 minutes and offers stunning views of the Orlando theme parks. Next visit the SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium, Madame Tussauds Orlando, and Museum of Illusions. To finish off the day do some shopping and grab dinner at one of the many amazing world-class restaurants.
For the 9th day after you’ve recharged go over to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This park has beautiful landscapes, unique wildlife, and fun attractions. Start by exploring Pandora The World of Avatar. Enjoy the Avatar Flight of Passage 3D Ride and Na’vi River Journey which is an amazing scenic boat ride.
For the afternoon head to Africa to experience a safari adventure and see animal exhibits. Take a jeep ride at Kilimanjaro Safaris that takes you through Harambe Wildlife Reserve where you can see beautiful animals like giraffes, lions, elephants, and many more. Also be sure to visit Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail to see gorillas, exotic birds, and more.
Next, head to Asia to experience the Maharajah Jungle Trek to walk through amazing exhibits with tigers, dragons, and more. Ride Expedition Everest The Legend of the Forbidden Mountain Coaster and Kali River Rapids water ride. Lastly, explore Discovery Island and Dinoland USA before grabbing some dinner and heading off.
On day 10 visit Disney’s Holywood Studios which is very popular for movie buffs. First, explore Star Wars Galaxy Edge and ride the Star Wars Rise of the Resistance ride and experience the simulator ride Millennium Falcon Smugglers Run. Then go to Toy Story Land Adventures. Here are the best attractions for smaller kids. Explore the Slinky Dog Dash, Toy Story Mania!, and Alien Swirling Saucers.
Spend the afternoon on Sunset Boulevard and enjoy attractions like The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and Rock’n’Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith. Finish the day off by watching a nighttime show and having dinner at a unique restaurant like the Hollywood Brown Derby.
Next, have a more relaxing day at Universal’s Volcano Bay which is an amazing theme waterpark. This tropical oasis includes water slides, relaxing lagoons, a unique volcano experience, and more. You can do the many water rides if you’re looking for adventure or just relax in the pools if you are looking for relaxation. For the adventurous try the Krakatau Aqua Coaster, the Ko’okiri Body Plunge, or the Kala and Tai Nui Serpentine Body Slides. For relaxation enjoy Waturi Beach which is a wave pool perfect for swimming or sunbathing, TeAwa the Fearless River which is a relaxing lazy river, and Puka Uli Lagoon which is a lounging area.
On day 11 do something unique and out of the ordinary and head to the Kennedy Space Station which is just an hour’s drive from Orlando. This is a super fun and educational experience for everyone. There are interactive exhibits, spacecraft, real-life NASA rockets, and more. First, check out the Heros and Legends exhibit and see the Astronaut Hall of Fame and the Space Shuttle Atlantis.
For the afternoon visit the Mars Exploration exhibit to see attractions like the Mars Rover Vehicle and the Journey to Mars simulation. Then head to the Rocket Garden to see retired rockets and spacecraft. Finish the day with the Shuttle Launch Experience with a simulation that puts you in the seat of a NASA astronaut during liftoff.
Orlando is more than just Disney and theme parks. There are so many other things to do in Orlando including shopping. Orlando is filled with shopping malls and an outlet mall. You can find anything from boutiques, luxury shopping, discount shops, and so much more.
The Orlando International Premium Outlets are the best place to look for discounted designer items. These outlets have almost 200 stores with significant discounts. Some stores in the outlets include the Adidas Outlet, Nike Factory Outlet, Coach Outlet, Michael Kors Outlet, and more.
The Mall at Millenia is a luxury shopping mall with many high-end retailers and a unique fancy shopping experience. Some stores in the mall include Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and more.
Also, Disney Springs has the iconic World of Disney Store, the Lego Store, the Art of Disney, and the one-of-a-kind Disney Dress Shop.
On the second last day, day 13 of your Orlando vacation go and explore Winter Park. Winter Park is a mix of natural beauty, divine art, and cultural history. There are many boutique shops, an exquisite arts scene, a picturesque lake, and amazing dining options. Take a stroll down Park Avenue and shop at the Winter Park Farmers Market do some souvenir shopping and find many handcrafted goods.
Experience some stunning pieces of art at the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art. Here you will see beautiful exhibits including the Tiffany Glass Collection with pieces like lamps, vases, and windows. There is American art from the 19th and 20th centuries with incredible artists.
Enjoy a scenic boat ride on the Winter Park Lakes and see some beautiful islands, stunning homes, lots of wildlife, amazing gardens, and lush forests. Take a walk through the Mead Botanical Garden which is a 47-acre nature area with trails, a beautiful butterfly garden, and amazing views.
On the final day, day 14 of your 14-day Orlando itinerary do some final things you may have missed. Do things like last-minute souvenir shopping, the last ride you didn’t get to do, and a final lunch, and finish the wonderful action-packed vacation with a bang.
There are so many fantastic places to stay in Orlando Florida. These are some of the best places to stay near the Walt Disney World Resort. The first one is Homewood Suites By Hilton Orlando Flamingo Crossings, Fl. Other good places include Courtyard by Marriott Orlando Lake Buena Vista in the Marriott Village, and Buena Vista Suites Orlando. These are mid-range hotels for price and are all about a 5-10 minute drive from the theme parks. Some of these may also have park shuttles available.
Some budget-friendly hotels near Walt Disney World Resort include Quality Inn & Suites Kissimmee by The Lake, Courtyard by Marriott Orlando Lake Buena Vista at Vista Centre, and Galleria Palms Orlando. These hotels are all about a 5-10 minute drive from the theme parks. They are all budget hotels but are still a great option if you are traveling on a limit. Some also have a free shuttle to the parks.
There are many hotels, resorts, and Airbnbs that you can book that are further away from the Disney area, these typically are cheaper the only downfall is it might take some extra time to get to the park. There are also actual Disney Resorts that you can stay at but they do cost a lot more for that experience and the convenience.
The most popular time to visit Orlando is summer. The summer is typically the most expensive time to visit Orlando as there are large crowds everywhere including the Disney World Resort parks, the malls, and pretty much all major attractions. The summer is also very hot in Florida, so pack accordingly.
The spring and fall are the best time to visit Orlando. There are fewer crowds and therefore cheaper prices. It is also nice not having to wait around in lines for every attraction. This is the ideal time to visit. The weather is perfect this time of year as well.
The winter is the least busy time in Orlando. The weather is cooler but still only requires a light jacket most days. The prices are the cheapest at this time except for the Christmas and New Year holidays.
