Where To Stay In New York City

New York has so many great places to stay. You could either stay in the City or nearby. There are many budget-friendly options and many luxury options as well.

The Hilton Garden Inn New York Central Park South-Midtown West is a budget-friendly hotel if you are looking to stay close to the city. Also, The Manhattan at Times Square is another budget-friendly hotel that is in the city. These 2 hotels are within walking distance from Times Square and Central Park. The price for these hotels is great based on the location since you are right in the center of the city and that is very convenient.

If you are looking for something a little fancier to stay in then some mid-range hotels include the DoubleTree by Hilton New York Downtown and the Hilton New York Fashion District. These hotels are a little pricier but also offer different amenities. The rooms are very fancy and luxurious, and the hotels are both located close to the city center.

If you are going all out on your girls’ trip and want all the glamour that comes with it then you need to stay at either Thompson Central Park New York, part of Hyatt, or the Warwick New York. These hotels are pricey but they are luxurious and super comfortable. Also in a great location.

How To Get Around New York City

Getting around New York City is fairly simple. There are many ways of transportation to get you from point A to point B.

The traffic in New York City is a nightmare so the best way to get around would be the subway. New York has a great subway system called The Metro, it is cheap and easy to use. Just google where you are heading and google will tell you what trains to take.

Another option is to use Uber. Depending on traffic Uber is very convenient to use as well since you can choose where you want to be picked up and dropped off. A little bit more expensive than The Metro but still a great option.

Arrive In New York

When you arrive in New York City head to your hotel and get ready to do some shopping. Start by doing some vintage shopping. The City has so many great vintage shops filled with jewelry, accessories, clothing, and more.

Shopping

After enjoying some vintage shopping head to 5th Avenue. 5th Avenue used to be known as “Millionaires Row” and is one of the most expensive shopping streets in the world. Great to do some luxury shopping and even window shopping. Take a stroll by Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Chanel, Prada, and many more.

Check out the Upper East Side for some shopping fun. The Upper East Side has some of the best shopping in the city. Along with designer shops it also has famous department stores like Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, and more.

Finish off your shopping day by heading to Soho. (Broadway, Prince Street, Spring Street) Soho is filled with trendy boutiques, and designer shops, and offers a super unique shopping experience. Soho is also known for hosting fashion events, and so many other cool experiences.

Dinner At Jack’s Wife Freda

After shopping all over the city head to Jack’s Wife Freda for dinner. There are locations in Soho, West Village, Chelsea, Union Square, and Williamsburg. This restaurant has many food options and is very aesthetically pleasing with beautiful floral decor and accents.

Drinks At The Top of The Standard

After having a delicious dinner head out for some drinks at one of New York’s best rooftop bars called The Top of The Standard located in Lower Manhattan’s Meatpacking District. This is a great place to grab some fancy drinks. This is also a great nightclub after 10 pm if you want an evening of dancing.

Brunch At Balthazar

Start day 2 of your girls’ trip To New York City by having brunch at the famous Balthazar Restaurant. Balthazar is a hip cozy spot that serves great food and drinks and was also featured in an episode of Sex and The City. This New York favorite brunch spot is especially great around the holidays. The decor is super festive and the atmosphere is very relaxed.

Brooklyn

After enjoying brunch at Balthazar head to Brooklyn to do some exploring. The first thing you need to check out when you get to Brooklyn is the Brooklyn Bridge. The Brooklyn Bridge connects Manhattan to Brooklyn and offers one of the best panoramic views of the skyline of Downtown Manhatten. Walk up the bridge to get some Instagrammable photos with the girls. Also, take a stroll through Brooklyn Heights and enjoy the beautiful architecture of the buildings.

Staten Island Ferry, Statue Of Liberty, And Ellis Island

After spending some of the day in Brooklyn head to the Staten Island Ferry. The Staten Island Ferry connects Staten Island to Manhattan. This is the best place to get a view of the Statue of Liberty as the ferry travels all the way around. You could also visit Ellis Island to see the Statue Of Liberty up close. A must-do while on your girls’ trip to New York City.

The Empire State Building

Once you get off the Staten Island Ferry you need to visit the Empire State Building. The Empire State Building is one of the tallest buildings in New York City. Head to the top to get some amazing pictures of the city from up top. There are also telescopes that you can use to see the city. On a clear sunny day, you can see all of New York from up there. This is another great Instagrammable spot in New York City.

The Metropolitan Museum Of Art

The MET is one of the world’s finest and largest art museums. With over 5000 years of history and culture from all over the world. If your group loves history then this is a great place for you to enjoy.

Dinner At Prince Street Pizza

To finish off your day 2 of your girls’ trip to New York City stop at a famous pizza shop called Prince Street Pizza for dinner. This pizza shop has locations all over the United States and over the years has become more and more popular. They serve Sicilian-style pizza with homemade sauces made from scratch every day. There are many different types of pizzas and something for everyone. So delicious!

Brunch At Blue Box Cafe

Ever heard of Breakfast at Tiffany’s? Well, the perfect way to start day 3 of your girls’ trip to New York City is by having lunch at the Blue Box Cafe. This famous cafe is covered with Tiffany blue decor and jewels all over and is one of the most iconic cafes in New York City. It is located at the main Tiffany and Co. store on 5th Avenue. Also, check out the stunning Tiffany Clock located on 5th Avenue just outside of Macy’s.

Greenwich Village

Greenwich Village has a laid-back boho vibe and is a hub for jazz clubs, unique bars and cafes, and iconic buildings featured in TV shows. The famous Friends apartment is located in Greenwich Village and so is the actual filming of Carrie Bradshaw’s Stoop from Sex And The City.

Governors Island

After exploring Greenwich Village head to Governors Island. Governors Island is located in the New York Harbor, and it is just South of Manhatten. There is lots of open space here to walk around or even rent a bike and explore the cool buildings and natue. Governors Island has great places to take pictures of Manhatten as well. Also a great place to grab a drink and food. I recommend Taco Vista for some fantastic food and drinks. The best part is they have a wonderful patio that overlooks Manhatten and is a great spot to chill.

Broadway Show

Get dressed up and catch a Broadway Show in New York City. This is another classic thing you have to do when here. Some great shows to watch are The Lion King, Hamilton on Broadway, Wicked on Broadway, Sweeney Todd on Broadway, and Moulin Rouge! The Musical on Broadway, and many more.

Central Park

A great way to start day 4 of your girls’ trip to New York City is by grabbing a famous New York bagel and heading to Central Park. New York is known for having the best bagels with the perfect bread texture, ample toppings, and extreme flavor. Central Park is the city’s biggest park and is also a National Historic Landmark. The park has lots of walking and biking trails, fountains, little bridges with water underneath, small ponds, lots of nature, and amazing views of the city. While in Central Park check out the view of Plaza Hotel. It is a beautiful building and is also known for the iconic scene from Home Alone 2 Lost In New York.

Times Square

Once you’ve enjoyed your time in Central Park you need to visit Times Square. Times Square is known for having huge light-up billboards, theatres, music halls, grand hotels, restaurants, and bars. Times Square is one of the most famous places people enjoy on large celebrations like New Year’s Eve. On your girls’ trip to New York City you must visit Times Square you will be in awe.

Dinner at Carmine’s

After being in the hustle and bustle of Times Square you will need a great place to sit down relax, enjoy, and eat. My favorite place to eat in New York is Carmine’s. Carmine’s is a family-style Italian restaurant that offers delicious food. A great way to end off your last dinner in New York City with the girls is by having a chill family-style meal that is amazing. Lots of celebrities also like to come and eat at Carmine’s as well.

Drinks At While We Were Young

After a delicious meal at Carmine’s finish the night off by having some drinks at While We Were Young restaurant and bar. This bar has a great aesthetic and fancy cocktails for you to enjoy.
